Through May 31 - Call for Entries. The 2007 Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films (Palm Springs ShortFest) is accepting film submissions.
Now in its 13th year, the Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films has become known world-wide for the extraordinary community of filmmakers it attracts, and for the quality and scope of its programming. This celebrated event is the largest festival of its kind in America, showcasing over 350 short films each year from more than 40 countries, with a library of more than 2200 films available to film buyers, industry and press in the Film Market running concurrently with the Festival. Included are seminars, technological demonstrations and scheduled 'one-on-one' meetings with industry experts and filmmaking professionals, free to all filmmakers who participate in the Festival. Best of all, all films submitted to the Festival are eligible for free inclusion in the Film Market and made available to all attending industry and press for viewing at our Film Market headquarters & screening center. This 12-week session enables dedicated students and professional musicians the opportunity to play music in a large ensemble. Michael Childers is a significant American Photographer whose contributions to photography have shaped our view of legends from popular culture and in the art world. studies with the legendary T. Balasaraswati. Shyamala is considered to be a Bala's leading disciple and is highly respected for her dedication to the preservation of this extraordinary dance form. She is director of
the Koothambalam School of Traditional Bharata Natyam with branches in Chennai, India and Boulder, Colorado. She teaches in India, the U.S. and Europe and performs to acclaim internationally. Her students include
Annirudha Knight, the grandson of Balasaraswati. She is part of a small group of dance masters who are striving to keep this art alive as ritual offering to the divine. Shamyala will be offering private sessions at
