May 11 – Animal Traces
Tracks and traces can provide a glimpse into the lives of animals whose actions are otherwise hidden from us. They can tell us not only what the animal was and where it has been but possibly even what it was doing. Museum Educator Crystal Mason will teach children about these identification tools for desert animals during this informative Science Saturday.
May 25 – Fear
Have you ever experienced acrophobia? If you have a fear of heights then you certainly have. Join Crystal Mason, Museum Educator, as she explains the concept of fear for this fright filled Science Saturday. She will describe the biological reaction in the brain that causes fear, how an individual can be conditioned to feel fear and how you can fight your fears. She will also describe some of the most common fears and some of the odder fears like xanthophobia.
