Harrison House Music & Arts is pleased to welcome master musician and storyteller Big Black for an evening performance of folklore and blues music at 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 18th followed by a morning hand-drumming meditation from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Sunday, August 19th.

Big Black’s flair for storytelling and playing a mean blues guitar reveals a lesser-known side of his virtuosity. He has been invited for his Harrison House residency to explore this side of his artistic expression. Saturday night will be a special one-of-a-kind performance of folklore and blues, followed by a percussion meditation session on Sunday that will unite the audience through his ground-breaking and unorthodox percussion techniques.

Big Black is most widely known as a master of world percussion and the first to integrate the African drum into modern calypso and jazz music, performing with icons Lord Flea, Billy Cook, Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Dizzy Gillespie and many others. Every note Big Black plays is dedicated to peace:
