(BIG BEAR LAKE) - The Old Miners Association has rescheduled its 2012 Donkey Softball Tournament and Outhouse Races to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 25 at Meadow Park in the city of Big Bear Lake. There will a game or race every hour on the hour through 9 p.m.
Applications are available for teams to compete in the tournaments and races. Please visit www.oldminers.org for additional information and to fill out the applications. There will be only 10 teams allowed in the softball tournament, and it’s first come, first served.
Additionally, The Old Miners Association is launching a "Fill the Hay Wagon" campaign to support local food pantries. In lieu of paying for admission to the Donkey Softball Tournament and the Outhouse Races, the Old Miners Association is asking for a donation of two unexpired food items (cans, boxes or packages of dry food goods). Otherwise, a suggested donation of $2 is requested for each adult.
There will be a “Calcutta Auction” for prizes in the Outhouse Races. Come out and bid on which Outhouse Team you think will be crowned the "Fastest-People-Powered-Potty-In-The-West."
The Association invites everyone to join in the fun and support their favorite community organization or business as they vie for the coveted title of Donkey Softball Champion. It’s great family fun.
The Old Miners Association also has a limited number of pre-built, race-ready outhouses for rent for only $50, so call (909) 436-9145 to reserve your racer now.
