FREE - Mountain Communities Health Fair - FREE

The Mountain Communities Health Fair will be held on Saturday July 13, 2013 at the Elks Lodge 40611 Village Drive Big Bear Lake, CA 92315 from 9 am to 3 pm.

Many FREE resources and services on the mountain will be available, below is just a sampling of the exhibitors attending. Free health screenings for hearing, eyes, and dental will be provided to all attendees, screenings are provided by licensed professionals. In addition Bear Valley Community Hospital will have resources and information about various programs offered by the hospital, including MediCal assistance, nutrition, diabetes/hypertension, physical therapy, services offered at both rural health clinics and the Mom & Dad project. The hospital will have free coloring books on eating healthy along with free paper nurse and doctor hats, in addition they will have a ball toss game to win prizes. The Masonic Lodge will be offering a free child identification program that includes mouth swabs, hair samples and a voice recognition CD that police can use to identify an older child that was abducted. Medical Arts Supply and Wellness will be providing resources on various products available from skin care to medical equipment. Action Response Team will have EMS resources on CPR and first aide. Soroptimist International of Big Bear will be will be giving out information about Mammograms for women who are uninsured, their goal is to improve the lives of women and girls in the community of Big Bear. Concorde Career College will be providing blood pressure, pulse oxygenation, and vital sign checks along with health promotion assessments. DOVES will be providing resources on domestic violence and are planning a fun bean bag toss for young and old alike.
