The Angel and the Badman

The DESERT CLASSIC FILM SOCIETY will be presenting the 1947 classic western THE ANGEL & THE BADMAN on Friday, July 5 at 8 p.m. at the Bijou Cinema in Yucca Valley.

Quirt Evans an all round bad guy is nursed back to health and sought after by Penelope Worth a quaker girl. He eventually finds himself having to choose from his world or the world from which Penelope lives by. This was Republic Studios attempt to challenge the supremacy of the big studios. This was an "A" western, not a "B" western. This was the first movie that John Wayne produced as well as starred in.

Plus a vintage cartoon will also be screened

Film historian Christopher Perry will introduce the film. A vintage film print will be screened.

The Bijou opens at 7:30 pm.
