A Follow-up on the DOMA and Prop 8 Rulings

PALM SPRINGS, CA – On Wednesday, July 24, beginning at 5:30 p.m. a free community presentation will occur to provide information on the legal and emotional implications of the recent Supreme Court rulings on Prop 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). The presenters will include:
Geoff Kors: Senior Legislative and Policy Strategist at NCLR, former Executive Director of EQCA
Jill Gover, PHD: Director of Counseling at the LGBT Community Center of the Desert
Andy Linsky: Human Rights Campaign Foundation member
Christopher Heritage: Founder and principal of Heritage Legal, PC
Each presenter will provide a brief overview of the considerations and implications from the rulings. An opportunity for Q&A will follow.
This event is in collaboration between The LGBT Community Center of the Desert, Equality California, National Center for Lesbian Rights, Lambda Legal, American Civil Liberties Union, Greater Palm Springs Pride, and the Human Rights Campaign. The event will be held at the Mizell Senior Center, located at 480 South Sunrise Way in Palm Springs.
