Borrego Badlands Photo Safari with Paul Johnson
and Anza-Borrego Foundation
Join us for an expedition to photograph some of the dramatic and unique places in and around the Borrego Badlands of Anza-Borrego. Scenery will vary from huge, upthrust sandstone blocks to delicate gypsum crystals embedded in tilted clay walls. There will also be long views across the badlands, short views of smoke trees and desert trumpets, and many things in between. There will be two primary objectives on this trip. The first is to learn to see those parts of a landscape which will produce great photographs. The second objective is to learn the techniques which will allow you to capture those views so that the resulting images communicate and enhance the drama or beauty or emotion that you saw or felt. While the trip is open to anyone who wants to learn how to produce quality photographs, some of the techniques to be discussed will apply primarily to those who have adjustable, interchangeable lens cameras. The level of instruction will presume that participants have read their owner's manual recently and have a working knowledge of how to operate their camera.
Four-Wheel-Drive Required, and we will cover a driving distance of approximately 50 to 60 miles.
