The Arts Council of Big Bear Valley presents, “Virtuoso Vocals and Sumptuous Strings,” a concert to be held on Sunday, September 9, 2012 in Hofert Hall at the Performing Arts Center from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Guest Soprano vocalist from Las Vegas, and part-time Big Bear resident, Elaine Fitzpatrick performs the amazing “Virtuoso Vocals,” together with Diane Sloan, Big Bear voice instructor and professional MBA vocalist, formerly from the Los Angeles musical scene. They will be performing familiar and entertaining musical theater standards, guaranteed to produce lots of smiles

An opportunity to hear the newly formed group known as the “Mountain Marvelettes,” an energetic and entertaining group of young talent, who love singing “Oldies But Goodies.” Vocal alumni Nicholas Topoleski and Vantasia Wormsbecker will perform as well. This group of young talent will amaze and inspire their audience and are not to be missed.

Providing the “Sumptuous Strings are the European-bound Mountain Top Strings of California ensemble, who will play a creative collection of selections from 20th Century Pop music to unique cello quartets to orchestral standards by Corelli and Vivaldi. Director Sharon Rizzo has brought together some of the finest young musicians for this special Sunday afternoon.

Hoefert Hall at the Performing Arts Center is located at 39707 Big Bear Blvd., Big Bear Lake. Tickets are $20 adults, $10 students. The afternoon concludes with complimentary hors d’oeuvres, coffee and deserts. A no-host bar is also available for alcoholic refreshments.
