Transition Joshua Tree is staging a Joshua Tree Back Roads Clean Up on Saturday, January 18th from 8 AM to 2 PM. The County of San Bernardino is providing dumpsters and equipment at a collection site for the removal of items dumped on rural roads. Anyone with a truck or trailer who can help with the clean up should come to the check in site on La Ferney & Broadway for instructions. Volunteers are needed.

The specific area being cleaned is bounded by Hwy 62, Sunburst Avenue, Golden Street and Cascade Road. This clean up is limited to items dumped on the roadside. No yard or garage cleanup items or household waste will be accepted.

TJT will be coordinating the recycling, and repurposing of many types of dumped items.

A map to the collection site will be available on the 18th at the Listening Lounge. An art show by local assemblage artists will be open at the Lounge in conjunction with this event. Call or email Buck Buckley at 760.819.1299 or for more information.

Members of the Joshua Tree Clean Team and the Morongo Basin Conservation Association’s Clean n’ Green Team and Radio Free Joshua Tree are also participating in this project.

Please! No yard or garage items or household waste will be accepted. This is a roadside clean up only.
