family campout and bicycle fun ride
Event tags: State Park, Family, Camping, Bike
September 28 and 29 is the first ever "Tour de Antelope Valley" family campout and bicycle fun ride! This fundraiser is co-sponsored by California State Parks, Poppy Reserve/Mojave Desert Interpretive Association and Antelope Valley High Desert Cyclists. All proceeds will go to the Save Saddleback Butte fund to help keep Saddleback Butte State Park open to the public.
Adults may participate in one of two different fun rides on Saturday, September 29. A 70-mile round trip ride to the Poppy Reserve and back begins at 7 a.m.; a 38-mile round trip ride to Heroes Park near the Lancaster BLVD and back begins at 8 a.m. (round trip mileage is approximate). Both rides begin and end at Saddleback Butte State Park and are fully supported with food/ rest stops, SAG vehicles, and lunch after the ride. Registration begins at 6 a.m.
On Friday night, come to a fun Family Campout at Saddleback Butte State Park. Registration fee includes a camp site, children’s activities, a campfire program with s’mores, and a guided hike. Campers may also opt for dinner on Friday night and breakfast on Saturday morning. On Saturday morning, a two-mile children's ride within the park on a dirt road will begin at 9 AM.
Join us for this great event! All rides are "fun" rides and not races. Registration form and more information is available at SaveSaddleback.org and through Active.com, or contact the ride organizer at (661) 946-1976 or email@example.com. Come support our local State Park and have a great time!
