April 28 & 29, 2012 at Temple Isaiah in Palm Springs

Palm Springs, CA: Caballeros presents “SNAP OUT OF IT!” (Songs for the New Depression) concert at Temple Isaiah on Saturday Evening, April 28 at 8 p.m. and Sunday Afternoon, April 29 at 3 p.m. The 60-voice Gay Men’s Chorus of Palm Springs will be led by Artistic Director Robert Seeley along with Bruce Mangum, accompanist.

“SNAP OUT OF IT!” will feature an upbeat musical repertoire including Brand New Day (from "The Wiz"), Proud Mary, Daybreak, All This Joy, Lean On Me / We Shall Overcome, Smile, We Rise Again, You Raise Me Up, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Summertime, Never Ever, We're Not Lost - We're Here, Make Them Hear You (from "Ragtime"), Get Happy, Always Look on the Bright Side of Life, Dancin' in the Street, You Can't Stop the Beat (from "Hairspray"), and, Let Freedom Ring.

Renowned Composer and Artistic Director Robert Seeley is a seasoned veteran in male choral music. He is a former Composer in Residence for the Portland Gay Men’s Chorus, as well as the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus for which he composed NakedMan in 1996. He has also written for the Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus (Metamorphosis), Dallas Women's Chorus (Only Human), New York City Gay Men's Chorus (In This Heart of Mine), Turtle Creek Chorale (To a Dancing Star), Gay Men's Chorus of Washington (This House Shall Stand: Songs of My Family), Seattle Men's Chorus (Over the Skies of Yisrael) and the Portland Gay Men's Chorus (BraveSouls and Dreamers).

Accompanist Bruce Mangum is a savvy performer and musical director with many accolades for his musical theatre work throughout the west coast. Mangum infuses his sonic genius into the valley’s performing arts including Palm Springs Opera Guild and other select musical theatre offerings throughout the desert.
