"For Love of Life and Country"


Morongo Basin Historical Society is reaching out to Vets with this day after Veteran’s Day lecture:

November 12, 2014:

Dr. W. Dean Hunter, author “For Love of Life and Country”, decorated Veteran, member of the U. S. Marine Corps and Lt. Col USAF Ret. pilot will speak about his experiences of serving his country beginning in the Korean War through twenty-year service as an Air Force pilot including five years as a fighter pilot in the Southeast Asia conflict.

Dean Hunter, a true American Hero and veteran of three wars will entertain, inspire and reaffirm his belief in the values and goals of our great nation.

Dr. Hunter is currently a candidate for the Congressional Medal of Honor for a flight flown on June 25, 1964. He flew 166 combat missions in a modified AT26D fighter in Vietnam.

Please join the Morongo Basin Historical Society 2nd Wednesday Lecture Series welcoming Dr. Hunter. His experiences are “humorous, thoughtful, tragic and joyous.”

He will sign his book “For Love of Life and Country” after the lecture and slide show.

Lecture at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum Yucca Valley 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Donation $5.
