Author Lecture: Nancy W. Sindelar, Ph. D. discussing Ernest Hemingway at the Palm Springs Public Library


She will be discussing her book "Influencing Hemingway: The People and Places That Shaped His Life and Work." The lecture will begin at 6:30 p.m. in The Learning Center (TLC).

This lecture will introduce you to the people, places and activities that shaped the legendary author who courted life-threatening adventures and glamorous friends while writing articles, novels and short stories that captivated the world. Beginning with Hemingway’s birth and early influences in Oak Park, Illinois we will then move to Hemingway’s adventures and experiences in Kansas City, Italy, France, Spain, Key West, Florida, Cuba and Sun Valley, Idaho. With rarely seen photos and excerpts from Hemingway’s personal letters to parents, wives, lovers, children and friends this will be a wonderful overview of this legendary author.

Using her background as a board member of the Ernest Hemingway Foundation of Oak Park and her experience as a teacher of Hemingway: The Man, The Writer, The Legend, Nancy Sindelar has made many popular presentations about the life and work of Ernest Hemingway.
