Monday, May 27th 2013 marks the 25th anniversary of the Memorial Day Bash. Hosted by the Range riders will be held on the local community center grounds at 20905 Hot Springs Road in Sky Valley, CA from noon to 6 pm.

Before other music festivals came to the Coachella Valley, like Stagecoach and Coachella Fest, the Memorial Day Bash was entertaining locals and visitors with a wide range of musical entertainers.

The first Memorial Day Bash, was held at Cloverleaf Water Park, operated by John Barker, atop Edom Hill in the 1980s. In 1988 Memorial Day Bash drew thousands for fun-in-the-sun and all day music to the water park.

Family-friendly entertainment and good music for those in attendance.

This year Memorial Day Bash includes Groups and solo artists from around Southern California singing everything from Country, 50s, 60s 70s and 80s music, Rock n Roll and Gospel. A little something for everyone. Concessions will be available throughout the day, no alcohol will be served.

For Gospel music fans, there will be a 34 year anniversary tribute to Gospel Music and the Western Deserts Gospel Sing (see www.WesternDesertGospelSing.com) which is to this day, one of the largest, most recognized and remembered Gospel Music events on the West coast. This event drew thousands of people to the Fairgrounds in Victorville, California each year, with special celebrity guests ranging from President Ronald Reagan to King of the Cowboys, Roy Rogers.

“This Memorial Day Bash, is designed for families and individuals who want something fun to do that doesn’t cost much on Memorial Day Weekend.” Says organizers. “This has always been a community event.”

Nashville recording artist Gary Lee Murray and Range Riders are among the day's musical lineup.
