Description:

June 10, Wednesday join us for “Myth in the Mojave”

Catherine Svehla, Ph.D., mythologist and storyteller will speak about native peoples like the Chemehuevi and how their stories -the creation myths and the figure of Coyote in particular- influence their world view in ways that are different from ours. These stories are potentially useful for us to understand as we think about the future of the desert.

Doctor Svehla is a favorite performer at the annual Desert Stories presentation in Joshua Tree.

Join Morongo Basin Historical Society’s 2nd Wednesday Lecture Series for a magical evening of stories woven around Mojave myths.

Presented at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum in Yucca Valley 57116 29 Palms Highway. Starts at 5:30. Donation is $5.
