Morongo Basin Historical Society Field Trip
Visit the Historic Rougley Manor June 20
June 20, Saturday 10:00 a.m. is a field trip, sponsored by Morongo Basin Historical Society, to historic Roughley Manor in Twentynine Palms.
Our hosts Jan and Gary Peters will give a behind-the-scenes tour of the 1926 ranch and three story former home of Bill and Elizabeth Campbell. Elizabeth, an early archaeologist is most famous for her discovery of the existence of Pinto Man culture in the Pinto Mountains. Jan will read excerpts from Elizabeth’s 1908 diary bringing alive the colorful history of one of Twentynine Palms early homesteaders.
