Join us for a day of Halloween-themed activities at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum’s Halloween Spooktacular! This event will include frightfully fun games, face painting and hands-on crafts. Keep your eye out for a snake, tarantula or hissing cockroach from the museum’s mini-zoo making an appearance. Costumes are encouraged. Halloween Spooktacular is free to the public and trick-or-treat candy will be available.
At 11:00 a.m. in the courtyard behind the museum the Town will be presenting its Howl-oween Costume Pet Parade! Bring your pet and join in the fun. Prizes will be given out for the funniest and most original costumes, and also the best animal/owner look-alike. Pet adoption will be sponsored by the Yucca Valley Animal Shelter.
For more than 45 years the Hi-Desert Nature Museum has been dedicated to the process of education by exploring the natural, artistic and cultural heritage of the Morongo Basin and High Desert. The Museum seeks to inspire wonder, discovery, understanding and responsibility in its community and visitors through exhibits, programs, and collections in the arts, history, and natural sciences. The Hi-Desert Nature Museum is operated by the Town of Yucca Valley and located in the Town’s Community Center Complex at 57116 Twentynine Palms Highway. The Museum is open Tuesday – Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Admission is free; donations support the educational mission of the Museum.
