Boo in the Zoo


You are invited to bring your children all dressed for Halloween and enjoy a thrilling ghost and goblins adventure 10AM to 5PM in the Big Bear Alpine Zoo located in Big Bear Lake, California on Saturday October 27, 2012. There will be contests for children best costumes, children games and arts crafts projects. Children can go on a scavenger hunt and win free bowling games at the Bowling Barn. At 11:00am and 2:00pm will be Halloween Enrichment treats for the animals, and the 3:00pm feeding tour will have special Halloween treats for the animals. And like years before, children can get lots of treats throughout the park from gracious business participants and docent goblins all decked out for thrills and chills. So come to the zoo for an exciting time.

Bring a pumpkin and get $1 off your admission. Standard park admission applies: Ages 11-59 $9.00, ages 3-10 and seniors $6.00, under 3 years old is free, and Friends the Alpine Big Bear Zoo (aka Friends of the Moonridge Zoo) members are free.

Recently the Moonridge Animal Park underwent a name change and now they are the Big Bear Alpine Zoo. The Friends of Moonridge Zoo followed suit with their name change too. The Big Bear Alpine Zoo is a wildlife animal sanctuary, rehabilitation and education center founded in 1959 and is operated and owned by the Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District. The Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo was formed in 1989 as a non-profit public benefit corporation whose purpose is to support the Big Bear Alpine Zoo through: (1) Educating the public regarding treatment, protection, and conservation of wildlife; (2) Recruiting and coordinating zoo volunteers; and (3) Fundraising.
