Pumpkin Splash

Selecting the perfect pumpkin is a favorite family activity in October and the Town of Yucca Valley’s recreation staff is making it even more fun again this year. On Sunday afternoon, October 28th, 150 pumpkins will be afloat and ready for the picking during the Pumpkin Splash event at the Yucca Valley High School pool.

Those attending will have the opportunity to choose from among the various options to harvest pumpkins: net fishing from the deck, plucking by boat, or taking the “polar plunge” to get a closer look. The Pumpkin Splash will also include harvest-themed activities such as arts and crafts, pumpkin decorating, games, and face painting on the pool deck while participants wait their turn and peruse the plethora of perfect pumpkins.

The Pumpkin Splash gates will open at 1:30 and the festivities will continue until 3:30 pm. Admission is $3 per person which includes all activities and a pumpkin to take home. The event is limited to 150 participants. Those under 8 years-old and non-swimmers must be accompanied and supervised by a competent adult. The pool is located on the high school campus, 7600 Sage Avenue, Yucca Valley. Event sponsors are Bruce Jones Dentistry and Lombardo Family Dentistry of Yucca Valley.

Pre-sale admission can be purchased online at or at the Community Center from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. If available the remaining tickets will be sold at the gate on the day of the event. For more information call the Town of Yucca Valley Community Services Department at 369-7211
