When first coming to the Indian Wells Valley, my impression was, “I can do this desert for two years, then out of here”. Then I met the diverse people and started to see the contours and shadows of the Sierra and the desert. That was 41 years ago. Shadows add the depth and dimension to all we view as much as diversity does to people. This show emphasizes the shadows of what we view and feel.

Lois Painting"My oil paintings are of desert landscapes, many are local. I do plein aire painting and then come into the studio to finalize them. My pottery is mostly high-fire, hand thrown pottery but I will be showing a few pieces that are saggar fired and they are considered low-fire and only decorative rather than functional. I will have pottery wall pieces, medium and large pots, and oil paintings."
