September 9, 2015 “Turkey Vulture Migrations and the Migrations of Raptors through the Desert” presented by Kurt Leuschner, M.S. Professor of Natural Resources COD.

In the fall waves of turkey vultures migrate through the Morongo Basin settling down in trees to rest for the night.

Kurt Leuschner, M.S. will discuss the habits and traits of these birds and what sets them apart in the avian world. Leuschner will speak about the role vultures play in the high desert ecology.

Join the Morongo Basin Historical Society’s 2nd Wednesday Lecture Series at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum Yucca Valley 57116 29 Palms Hwy. Lecture begins at 5:30. Donation is $5.00.
