Harrison House Music & Arts is pleased to present “SHIFTING SANDS” a four-part Bharatanatyam dance workshop taught by Eva Soltes. The workshop will be conducted at Harrison House in Joshua Tree over the course of four consecutive Sundays and will address the basic principals of Bharatanatyam sacred South Indian temple dance, including Mudra (hand gesture), Tala (rhythm), and sculptural body poses. Each session will run from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm and training will focus on bringing this ancient dance form into a contemporary context.
Eva Soltes, is the Founder/Director of Harrison House Music & Arts. She is a 40-plus-year practitioner of traditional South Indian Bharatanatyam dance, having received intensive training from the legendary master dancer T. Balasaraswati and her family. Over her decades-long career in the arts Eva has produced and collaborated with a myriad of internationally renowned artists.
